**Here is a comprehension sheet and story map activity to print and use after you’ve read Shante Keys and the New Year’s Peas, by Gail Piernas-Davenport, to your students. **

Comprehension Sheet** - This sheet asks students to tell the problem and solution to the story, write 6 words that rhyme with “peas”, define “tradition”, and write their resolution for the New Year.

3. Story Map - Students use words and/or pictures to fill in the characters, setting, beginning, middle, end, and moral of the story.
